Special Education Teacher in Mahomet, IL

Skills and Experience Sought:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (state requirements apply)
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with diverse needs
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with parents, general education teachers, and support staff
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for empowering students of varying abilities
• Adaptability and creativity in lesson planning and classroom management
• Familiarity with current best practices and instructional strategies in special education

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized instruction based on students’ unique learning profiles
• Develop, review, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to monitor progress and adjust goals as needed
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment for all learners
• Maintain documentation, complete assessments, and communicate regularly with families and staff
• Participate actively in staff meetings, trainings, and student planning sessions
