Skills and Experience Sought:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (state requirements apply)
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with diverse needs
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with parents, general education teachers, and support staff
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for empowering students of varying abilities
- Adaptability and creativity in lesson planning and classroom management
- Familiarity with current best practices and instructional strategies in special education
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized instruction based on students’ unique learning profiles
- Develop, review, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to monitor progress and adjust goals as needed
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment for all learners
- Maintain documentation, complete assessments, and communicate regularly with families and staff
- Participate actively in staff meetings, trainings, and student planning sessions
