Special Education Teacher - Manchester, CT

Two long-term substitute positions are open. Both are full-time, Monday through Friday, with supportive leadership and collaborative colleagues. The PreK position at the Early Childhood Center runs from November 17 to January 8, with hours from 7:45 AM – 3:10 PM. The K-4 role at the STEM Academy starts November 12 and ends January 8, scheduled from 7:40 AM – 3:05 PM.

What you bring:

• Current special education teaching certification (or eligibility) for the state
• Experience working with early childhood and/or elementary-aged students
• A passion for differentiated instruction and individualized supports
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
• Collaborative spirit and ability to build relationships with students, families, and staff

Your responsibilities:

• Implement IEPs and individualized learning plans
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment for diverse learners
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Conduct progress monitoring and maintain accurate documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings and family communications
