Seeking a certified Special Education teacher to provide in-person coverage for a lower elementary classroom in Manchester, MI. This leave contract position begins August 25 and is expected to continue through approximately the week of August 3. The classroom consists of 10 students, focusing on tailored instruction to meet the developmental needs of each individual learner.
Responsibilities include delivering specialized instructional strategies, collaborating with support staff, and maintaining accurate student progress documentation. The role requires adapting learning materials to accommodate varied disabilities and fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in lower grades
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and special education law
- Ability to implement behavior management techniques and differentiated instruction
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills for working with students, families, and educational teams
