Two passionate and adaptable professionals are needed: one to oversee a 5th/6th grade resource room with a caseload of about 15 students, and another to lead a Life Skills/Intensive Needs classroom for three students with intensive support needs, each assisted by a dedicated paraprofessional. Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility) required
  • Experience with elementary (5th/6th grade) students in a resource or self-contained setting preferred
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and compliance
  • Skills in differentiating instruction and managing a diverse range of abilities
  • Comfortable working with students with complex medical or behavioral needs, including those on the autism spectrum
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support tailored to individual student goals
  • Develop and implement engaging lessons based on IEP objectives
  • Progress monitor student achievement and adjust strategies as needed
  • Foster a supportive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary team members, including paraprofessionals
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to district and state policies
