Special Education Teacher in Manchester, TN

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Current and valid 461 TN Special Education license (required)
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
• Previous experience teaching or supporting students with disabilities, ideally in a K-2 environment
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction to meet individual learner needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and families
• Ability to implement behavioral interventions and individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Positive, patient, and proactive attitude toward early elementary students

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction to K-2 students in a self-contained special education classroom
• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student goals and abilities
• Monitor and document student progress and adapt teaching methods as needed
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth and development
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, therapists, and families
• Maintain accurate records and participate in school meetings and professional development
