Key Qualifications:
- Possess an active Special Education teaching license or certification in Texas
- Hold certification in secondary math
- Demonstrated ability to create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, and other professionals
- Experience working with high school students in a special education setting preferred
- Organized, adaptable, and dedicated to student success
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for high school students
- Provide direct instruction in both special education and secondary math content
- Modify curriculum and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Track and document student progress, maintaining accurate records
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding student performance and goals
- Foster a positive and respectful classroom culture that encourages student engagement
