Special Education Teacher - Maple Grove, Minnesota

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) in a dynamic elementary school setting near Maple Grove, MN. This full-time, on-site contract role begins August 25, 2026, and continues through June 10, 2027, with hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (37.5 hours weekly, 30-minute unpaid lunch).

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or 4 required)
• Experience or passion for working with students identified with DCD or similar populations
• Strong collaborative skills with team members, families, and related service providers
• Effective communication, organization, and documentation abilities
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary Special Education Teacher for a caseload of approximately nine students with DCD
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
• Adapt curriculum and use innovative instructional strategies to support cognitive and behavioral growth
• Collect and analyze student data and progress, modifying instruction as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
• Participate in IEP meetings and facilitate communication between school, families, and community resources
