Qualifications

• Valid Texas Special Education teaching certification required

• Experience working with elementary students preferred

• Experience in a Life Skills or substantially separate classroom preferred

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and school staff

Pay: $30+ per hour, based on experience

Position Details

• Support students in a Life Skills classroom

• Serve students in 2nd–5th grade

• Develop and implement individualized instruction based on student needs

• Collaborate with the special education team and related service providers

• Maintain a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEP-aligned instruction

• Provide individualized academic and functional skills instruction

• Monitor student progress and maintain documentation

• Support communication, social, behavioral, and daily living skills

• Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams

• Participate in IEP meetings and other student support meetings
