Special Education Teacher - Maricopa, Arizona

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher supporting preschool students (ages 3–5) in a dynamic Arizona school setting. This contract opportunity places you at the heart of early intervention, collaborating with a dedicated Child Find team to ensure every child’s needs are met from the start.

You’ll guide and nurture a developing caseload—potentially growing to 40 students, divided between morning and afternoon sessions—by providing targeted instruction tailored to individual needs. Your expertise will be essential in developing compliant IEPs and actively collaborating with families and multidisciplinary staff to deliver the highest quality support.

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver specialized instruction to preschool-aged children during AM and PM classroom sessions
• Team up with evaluators and the Child Find department to design and activate effective IEPs for newly identified students
• Maintain ongoing, accurate, and compliant documentation for IEPs and student progress
• Engage in student assessments, data collection, and progress monitoring to drive instruction and support
• Attend IEP meetings, team collaborations, and school-wide staff meetings to align efforts
• Dedicate Wednesdays to professional development and collaborative planning—no direct student contact, allowing time to focus on growth and preparation
• Foster communication and partnerships with families and other service providers

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
• Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certification
• Background in preschool or early childhood special education strongly preferred
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
• Compassionate approach to teaching and supporting young children
