Special Education Teacher - Marion, IN

This full-time role runs from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, working with resource and self-contained blocks to help students with mild disabilities reach their full potential.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• State certification in Special Education (or eligibility)
• Previous teaching experience working with junior high and/or high school students
• Familiarity with developing, implementing, and tracking Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, especially relating to working with general education staff
• Skill in modifying curriculum and creating accommodations tailored to individual student needs
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and supportive classroom environment

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Providing instruction and support to students with mild disabilities in a resource classroom setting
• Teaching self-contained blocks, ensuring content is accessible, engaging, and differentiated
• Collaborating closely with general education teachers to modify and adapt lessons, assignments, and assessments
• Writing, reviewing, and updating IEPs to reflect student progress and ensure legal compliance
• Maintaining accurate records and clear communication with families, staff, and support teams
• Encouraging the academic, emotional, and social growth of each student by employing a variety of strategies and interventions
