This contract position offers the opportunity to work within two classrooms designed for exceptional learners, each thoughtfully staffed and resourced to help you thrive.

In the elementary setting, you will teach a small caseload of six students, all with mild needs and requiring toileting support. You'll collaborate with a dedicated teaching assistant and a behavior technician to foster a positive, inclusive environment where every child can achieve their best.

Within the middle school classroom, you will guide eleven students, providing educational leadership alongside a strong team—one teacher, three full-time teaching assistants, and a 1:1 aide supporting a student with a feeding tube. Some students require toileting assistance, and you'll play a central role in helping every student take meaningful steps forward.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification
  • Experience with elementary and/or middle school-aged students
  • Familiarity with toileting assistance and adaptive care routines
  • Ability to collaborate with support staff and foster a compassionate, structured environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction based on student needs and IEP goals
  • Ensure student safety and dignity during toileting routines
  • Collaborate closely with assistants, behavior staff, and 1:1 aides
  • Adapt lesson plans for diverse learning profiles
  • Maintain accurate records and progress notes
