Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working with diverse learning profiles, including students with IEPs
- Expertise in research-based reading intervention programs
- Strong knowledge of literacy development and instructional strategies
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to partner with teachers, families, and support staff
- Adaptable and creative problem-solver who individualizes instruction
- Previous school-based experience as a Reading Specialist or Special Education Teacher is preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted reading instruction to students with learning differences, implementing evidence-based interventions
- Assess student reading levels and monitor progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and support individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Support the creation of inclusive learning environments that foster student growth and confidence
- Maintain thorough documentation of interventions and student outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings, provide regular updates to stakeholders, and contribute to professional development efforts across the school community
