The role is onsite and requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week, following the academic calendar from late August to early June.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current, valid Michigan Special Education teaching license (verification required — please provide a screenshot).
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in high school or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) settings.
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and instructional strategies tailored for students with diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student growth and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective, evidence-based instruction to high school students with ASD.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Modify curriculum and adapt teaching techniques to meet unique student needs.
- Work collaboratively with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administration.
- Maintain accurate records, provide progress reports, and engage in regular communication with parents or guardians.
