Special Education Teacher in Marshall, MI

A unique opportunity awaits for a dedicated Special Education Teacher eager to make a difference at the high school level. This contract position, located near Marshall, MI, runs from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with a consistent full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. Qualifications:

• Possession of an active Michigan Special Education License, or eligibility to obtain one prior to start.
• Prior experience in a special education setting, preferably at the high school level and/or with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
• Ability to collaborate well with teachers, support staff, and families.
• Strong commitment to individualized instruction, classroom management, and student advocacy.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Creativity, flexibility, and a team-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in the ASD classroom.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and ensure equitable access to curriculum.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.
• Work collaboratively with general education teachers and ancillary staff to support student success.
• Regularly assess student progress and communicate updates to families and team members.
