Special Education Teacher - Marshall, MI

Key Qualifications:

• Active Michigan Special Education teaching license is required (please submit a screenshot for verification)
• Experience working with high school-aged students, particularly those with cognitive impairments, is highly desired
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and the ability to tailor instruction to diverse learning needs
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom culture
• Willingness to work as part of a team to deliver comprehensive educational services

What You’ll Do:

• Design and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to students with cognitive impairments
• Develop, monitor, and update IEPs in collaboration with colleagues and families
• Create a positive, safe learning environment that encourages student independence and self-advocacy
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure growth and success
• Collaborate closely with other educators and support staff to maximize educational outcomes
• Engage with families and caregivers regularly to communicate student progress and foster community involvement
