Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification)
  • Experience teaching or supporting students in grades K-5, 6-8, or 9-12
  • Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
  • Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including speech, OT, and behavioral support
  • Ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Dedication to maintaining a positive, supportive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to students receiving special education services
  • Develop, monitor, and update student IEPs in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Assess student progress and adjust interventions or supports as needed
  • Work closely with general education teachers to promote inclusion practices
  • Communicate regularly with families and staff regarding student progress and support plans
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and parent conferences
