Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for the state
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
• Experience working in school settings with students who have varying disabilities
• Ability to adapt and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Creative approach to lesson planning and adapting curriculum
• Knowledge of current special education regulations and best practices

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement instruction tailored to student needs
• Develop, maintain, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
• Assess student progress and report on outcomes
• Consult with parents, staff, and allied professionals to optimize learning outcomes
• Participate in professional development sessions and team meetings
• Employ effective classroom management strategies
• Provide guidance and support to paraprofessionals and classroom aides
