Special Education Teacher | Matthews, North Carolina

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• State certification in Special Education or eligibility to obtain
• Proven experience teaching students with diverse learning needs
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and monitoring
• Excellent communication skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with current instructional strategies and adaptive technologies
• Ability to create inclusive, supportive classroom settings

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and adapt lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and learning styles
• Manage IEPs, including assessments, goal setting, and ongoing progress monitoring
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
• Provide direct instruction in both small group and one-on-one settings
• Implement positive behavioral support strategies
• Maintain accurate records and communication with families
