We are seeking multiple Special Education Teachers for full-time opportunities in the Chicago, IL area for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year. These roles are ideal for experienced SPED educators who are confident supporting diverse student needs and managing IEP responsibilities.

The positions will run from August 2026 through June 2027 and will follow a Monday–Friday, full-time schedule of approximately 35–40 hours per week. Grade level and caseload details may vary, with opportunities available across the K–12 setting. Final placement will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, interview, and preference when possible.

The ideal candidate will have prior school-based special education experience and be comfortable writing and implementing IEPs, developing measurable IEP goals, collaborating with general education teachers, and supporting students in accordance with their individualized plans.

Position Details:

Dates: August 2026 – June 2027
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: 35–40 hours per week

Grade range: K–12
Specific age group/caseload to be determined based on interview, experience, and preference
Chicago area school-based setting

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct special education instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs
  • Develop, write, and monitor IEPs and IEP goals
  • Track student progress and adjust instruction based on individual needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and school staff
  • Participate in IEP meetings and other student support meetings as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with special education requirements
  • Support students academically, socially, behaviorally, and functionally based on their IEPs

Requirements:

  • Active Illinois Professional Educator License
  • LBS I endorsement/certification required
  • Certification should cover K–22, K–12, or an appropriate special education grade span variation
  • Prior experience writing IEPs and measurable IEP goals required
  • Previous school-based special education experience strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Compensation for this position ranges from $33.05 to $53.05. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
