Passionate about making a difference in students’ lives? This contract opportunity offers multiple Special Education Teacher roles at primary and secondary levels for the 2026-2027 academic year. You’ll contribute directly to a supportive and collaborative school environment, working in person across various grade levels and specialized settings.
Key Requirements:
- Active South Carolina Teaching License required
- BOTH Special Education and Early Childhood Certification (for EC PCD Teacher role, ages 3-4)
- SPED Multi-Categorical endorsement (for ID Mild/Moderate, ID Severe, and self-contained positions)
- Demonstrated experience with early childhood and/or K-12 self-contained special education classrooms
- Familiarity with adapting curriculum, IEP development/implementation, and progress monitoring
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams and families
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction for students with diverse learning needs
- Adapt lessons and manage classroom environments for optimal student engagement
- Lead IEP meetings; collect and report ongoing student progress data
- Implement classroom management strategies and evidence-based interventions
- Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and support professionals
- Foster an inclusive, nurturing learning atmosphere for every student
Assignment Details:
- Contract runs July 29, 2026 – May 27, 2027
- 37.5 hours per week, onsite at elementary, middle, and high school buildings
- Multiple positions available: Early Childhood, K-3 Mild/Moderate, Grades 3-5 Severe, High School Mild
