Special Education Teacher - Mchenry, IL

Make a positive impact as a Special Education Teacher in a collaborative PreK blended classroom for children ages 3-5. This contract opportunity is based near Mchenry, IL, offering the chance to support early learners in a setting designed for individualized attention. You’ll work alongside a dedicated general education PreK teacher and paraprofessionals, ensuring every student receives the guidance they need to thrive.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching license or eligibility in the state
• Experience or strong interest in working with early childhood (3-5 year olds)
• Familiarity with blended classroom models and inclusive teaching practices
• Ability to collaborate with team members and communicate with families effectively
• Strong organizational and classroom management skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet IEP goals and diverse developmental needs
• Partner closely with the general education PreK teacher and paraprofessionals
• Foster a positive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment for up to 18 students
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for support

This full-time role follows a 7:45 am – 2:30 pm weekday schedule, promoting work-life balance while making a real difference in young students’ lives.
