Special Education Teacher in Mckinney, TX

Make an impact in a supportive elementary setting as a Special Education Teacher, working with a dynamic K-3 classroom. This contract position offers the chance to develop meaningful relationships and create a nurturing learning environment for a diverse group of students near McKinney, TX.

In this self-contained classroom, you’ll teach a blend of two students in a structured learning program and eight students receiving direct instructional minutes. You'll collaborate closely with a dedicated paraeducator who assists with inclusion minutes, ensuring all students are fully supported in their educational journeys.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Texas teaching certification for Special Education
• Prior experience working in self-contained or structured special education environments
• Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
• Ability to modify and adapt lessons to accommodate a range of learning needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

What You’ll Do:

• Design and implement lesson plans tailored to individual student IEPs
• Foster an inclusive and positive classroom climate that encourages student growth
• Work closely with the paraeducator to coordinate and support inclusion minutes
• Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
