Qualifications & Experience:
- Active 461 TN Special Education teaching license – required
- Experience with K-2nd grade students or early elementary preferred
- Skillful in creating individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting instruction
- Strong classroom management abilities for a self-contained setting
- Committed to building trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily instruction, accommodations, and support in a self-contained K-2nd classroom
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning atmosphere
- Work closely with general education staff, paraeducators, and related service providers
- Engage families to encourage student growth and celebrate success
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and ongoing training
