Qualifications & Experience:

• Active 461 TN Special Education teaching license – required
• Experience with K-2nd grade students or early elementary preferred
• Skillful in creating individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting instruction
• Strong classroom management abilities for a self-contained setting
• Committed to building trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide daily instruction, accommodations, and support in a self-contained K-2nd classroom
• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning atmosphere
• Work closely with general education staff, paraeducators, and related service providers
• Engage families to encourage student growth and celebrate success
• Participate in school meetings, professional development, and ongoing training
