Special Ed Teacher | Mebane, North Carolina

A special education teaching opportunity is available in Mebane, NC, serving students with diverse and complex needs. This full-time contract position runs from January 5, 2026, through May 22, 2026, encompassing 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

The role involves supporting a caseload of approximately 10 students ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade. These students have severe disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), are non-verbal, exhibit challenging behaviors, and experience developmental delays. The teacher will be instrumental in delivering specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs within a supportive educational environment.

Qualifications and experience required include:

• Active North Carolina teaching license in Adaptive Curriculum with Cross-Categorical specialization for exceptional children K-12
• Proven experience working with students who have severe disabilities and complex behavioral needs
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong classroom management and communication skills

Responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering specialized instruction for students with significant disabilities
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and support staff
• Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies accordingly
