Make a meaningful impact in the lives of K-12 students as an Autism Specialist in Southern Oregon. This full-time contract role supports students within a 35-mile radius of Medford (serving areas from Ashland to Eagle Point/Grants Pass). You’ll work onsite with students across various grade and age levels, delivering expert consultation and support to both staff and families, with a focus on individuals on the autism spectrum—from high-functioning to severely impacted, non-speaking students.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Oregon licensure and certification as a Special Education Teacher, Speech-Language Pathologist (TSPC license or Board Certified), School Psychologist, or BCBA (with focused autism expertise)
- Minimum of three years’ professional experience working directly with students on the autism spectrum across a range of settings and severity levels
- Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret comprehensive Autism evaluations/assessments to measure impact on learning and participation
- Proficiency in consulting and collaborating with educational teams and developing strategies for a continuum of learners, both in general education and self-contained classrooms
- Familiarity with special education processes and public school environment (required for BCBAs)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite expertise as an Autism Specialist, collaborating with school teams to support individualized student needs
- Conduct Autism-specific evaluations and develop evidence-based intervention plans
- Deliver training and consultation for instructional staff and families
- Help program and implement supports for students on the full spectrum, including high-needs, non-speaking learners
- Travel within the defined service radius as needed to multiple schools
