Special Education Teacher in Media, PA

Multiple full-time contract positions are available for the upcoming school year, spanning elementary, middle, and high school levels. Open roles and schedule details include:

• 1 Elementary position: 8:30AM–4:00PM
• 1 Middle School position: 8:30AM–4:00PM or 8:00AM–3:15PM (final schedule TBD)
• 2 High School positions: 7:15AM–2:45PM

Start the 2026-2027 school year on August 24, 2026, with assignments concluding June 10, 2027, working 35 hours per week onsite.

Qualifications:

• Valid and active Special Education certification/license required for assigned caseload
• Bachelor’s degree (required for emergency teaching permit, if needed)
• Previous school-based experience required
• Experience in urban educational settings highly preferred
• Strong classroom and behavioral management skills
• Familiarity with state and district educational standards and best practices
• Reliable transportation is a must
• Must be able to meet all PA clearances before start date
• Comfortable adapting to district environment and policies
• Availability to work designated hours without schedule accommodations

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
• Assess student learning and differentiate instruction as needed
• Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment
• Utilize effective instructional strategies and resource materials
• Support students with diverse educational needs, fostering growth and confidence
