Special Education Teacher in Media, PA

Step into a rewarding school-based contract role dedicated to empowering students through excellent special education services. With four full-time openings available—one in a middle school and three in a high school—this is a unique opportunity for Special Education Teachers passionate about making a difference across grade levels and academic areas, including Science, Math, and Social Studies.

This position is onsite, and you'll be vital in supporting students’ academic and behavioral growth for the entire 2026-2027 school year. Schedules vary by assignment, with middle school hours tentatively between 8:30AM-4PM or 8AM-3:15PM, and high school hours from 7:15AM-2:45PM, ensuring a fulfilling 35-hour workweek. Your strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt instruction will be critical as you create engaging lesson plans aligned with current standards, implement formative assessments, and promote a positive learning environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Current, active teaching certification or licensure required for special education caseload
• Bachelor’s degree (minimum; necessary for emergency teaching permit)
• Prior experience in a school environment and familiarity with urban settings
• Reliable transportation to the onsite location
• Ability to complete all Pennsylvania state clearances
• Demonstrated expertise in subject area and instructional best practices
• Outstanding classroom and behavior management abilities
• Comfort working within district expectations and school culture
• Availability to work set hours with no alternate scheduling
