Key Qualifications:

  • Active Pennsylvania teaching certification or licensure appropriate for the special education caseload
  • Bachelor’s degree required (necessary for emergency teaching permit)
  • Previous experience working within a school environment, preferably in urban settings
  • Demonstrated mastery of special education subject matter, instructional strategies, and resource materials
  • Strong classroom and behavioral management abilities
  • Proficient at creating innovative lesson plans aligned with state/district standards and differentiated instruction
  • Ability to complete all required PA clearances
  • Reliable transportation to ensure your punctuality and consistent attendance
  • Comfortable working independently on-site at Main Street Elementary and with district routines
  • Availability Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; all hours required

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver lessons tailored to drive student progress, using formative assessments and data
  • Foster an inclusive classroom with a focus on safety, engagement, and positive behavior
  • Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to meet varied student needs
  • Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and school leadership
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to student performance and goals
