Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
- Experience or strong interest in a developmental learning classroom
- Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Resourceful, creative, and committed to student-centered instruction
- Ability to foster a supportive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and adapt instruction to meet the individual goals of students in the developmental learning classroom
- Implement IEPs and provide differentiated instruction using evidence-based strategies
- Assess student progress and communicate results with families and team members
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and support staff to support students’ needs
- Create a safe, nurturing, and encouraging classroom culture
- Engage in ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices in special education
