Step into a dynamic middle school environment as a Special Education Teacher, supporting a dedicated program for approximately 10-12 students. This is a full-time contract position offering the chance to make a meaningful difference each day. The role is collaborative in nature, working closely with a team that includes a Social Worker, literacy coach, math teacher, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), behavior technicians, and a teacher assistant.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid state certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification)
  • Experience teaching at the middle school level preferred
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary education teams
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students with diverse needs
  • Develop, monitor, and update IEPs in collaboration with parents and team members
  • Work alongside specialists and educators to address individual student goals
  • Utilize data-driven strategies and behavioral interventions
  • Maintain a safe, supportive classroom climate conducive to learning
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
