Desired Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with high school students or teens in a special education setting
- Strong understanding of IEPs and exceptional communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of various learning disabilities and accommodations
- Organizational skills to manage documentation, lesson planning, and student progress effectively
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Develop and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with colleagues and families
- Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that encourages learning and growth
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state requirements
- Partner with other educators and staff to promote student access to the full curriculum
- Engage in ongoing communication with parents and stakeholders regarding student achievements and needs
- Participate in professional development activities as required
This full-time position follows a schedule of 7:05 AM to 2:05 PM, Monday through Friday, providing consistency and a clear routine. You’ll have the opportunity to make meaningful connections while dedicating expertise to students who benefit from strong advocacy and support.
