A dynamic high school resource classroom seeks a dedicated special education teacher to deliver push-in and pull-out services for a caseload of approximately 25 students. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide push-in and pull-out instructional support to high school students in a resource setting
- Work closely with general education teachers to support students in their courses
- Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Track student progress toward academic and behavioral goals
- Conduct student assessments and participate in data-driven decision-making
- Attend and present at IEP meetings, collaborating with colleagues and families
- Maintain detailed records in compliance with district and state standards
Required Qualifications:
- Connecticut Special Education Endorsement (open to candidates with a Durational Shortage Area Permit - DSAP)
- At least two years of recent experience teaching in special education settings
- Demonstrated proficiency in IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication and organizational skills
