Secondary Special Education Teacher x2 (Meriden, CT Area)
Position Overview
Soliant Education is seeking two qualified Secondary Special Education Teachers for onsite contract positions in Meriden, CT, for the 2026–2027 school year. This education industry opportunity is ideal for an experienced educator who can support students in a middle or high school setting through individualized instruction and collaborative services. The positions offer a resource/push-in model with caseloads ranging from 12–19 students.
Position Details
These full-time assignments are scheduled for 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with an ASAP start date through June 10, 2027. The selected educators will work directly within the school environment, supporting secondary students while collaborating with general education teachers and other members of the educational team. Compensation is $37.50–$52.75 per hour, with the final rate based on qualifications, experience, and certification.
Responsibilities
The teacher will provide specialized instruction aligned with students’ individual learning needs and educational goals. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining IEPs, managing assigned cases, providing direct instruction, monitoring student progress, and documenting educational outcomes. The educator will also collaborate with colleagues, families, and related service providers to promote student achievement and ensure appropriate implementation of support plans.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a valid Connecticut teaching license with a 165 or 265 Special Education certification. DSAP-certified candidates may also be considered based on district needs and qualifications. Applicants should have the ability to provide effective instruction in a secondary school environment while managing student plans, documentation, and ongoing case management responsibilities.
