Step into a transformative role supporting students’ growth in a dynamic, supportive educational environment! We are seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to provide high-impact instruction and support for high-priority programs—including Life Skills/Transition and Structured Intensive Support Classrooms—across multiple campuses near Mesa, AZ. With a contract position spanning July 27, 2024, through May 21, 2027, you’ll help shape the academic and social trajectories of students who need it most.

In this role, you will help design and deliver individualized support through a variety of programs including Inclusion/SUCCESS, Practical, CBT (Life Skills/Transition/Functional Academics), and STRIVE (self-contained behavior classrooms for students with autism or significant behavioral needs). Multiple positions are available, and candidates must live within a 30-minute commute of designated locations.

Ideal candidates possess:

  • Current Arizona Secondary Teaching License and K-12 Special Education Certificate
  • Valid IVP Fingerprint Card
  • Proven success working with students with emotional and behavioral disabilities, autism, and other exceptionalities
  • Understanding of at-risk, ethnically diverse, and limited English proficient student populations
  • Knowledge and experience with IDEA, IEP development, and compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Experience with Essential Elements of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.), or willingness to attend relevant staff development
  • Expertise in implementing functional behavioral and academic assessments, as well as evidence-based interventions

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and adapt IEPs tailored to students’ academic, transition, and behavioral needs
  • Support students in the acquisition of prosocial and self-regulatory skills
  • Collaborate with school teams, families, and external agencies
  • Provide instruction and intervention in structured, well-managed classrooms
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation per legal guidelines
