Step into a vital role supporting students with diverse learning needs as a Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity is based onsite at multiple school campuses within 30 minutes of Mesa, AZ. Educators aligned with department focuses such as Life Skills, Transition, and Structured Intensive Support classrooms are in particular demand. You’ll help foster inclusive, supportive environments for students across various exceptionalities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a standard Arizona secondary teaching license, current K-12 Special Education certificate, and IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Experience with emotional disabilities, prosocial skills development, and supporting self-regulation
- Knowledge of effective strategies for at-risk, ethnically diverse, and English language learner populations
- Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs, 504 plans, and interventions in alignment with federal, state, and district guidelines
- Experience or willingness to complete Essential Elements of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction within programs such as Inclusion/SUCCESS, Practical, CBT (Life Skills/Transition), and STRIVE (Self-contained Autism/Behavioral Support) according to assigned caseload
- Engage with students using best practices tailored to their individualized needs and backgrounds
- Complete documentation, progress monitoring, and required reporting efficiently and accurately
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and participate in professional development
- Maintain a safe, structured classroom environment supportive of learning and growth
You’ll become an integral part of dynamic teams in high-priority programs, helping students make meaningful progress in both academic and life skills. Positions are full-time, starting with required CIE training July 21-24, and follow the academic calendar through May.
