Special Education Teacher in Middleburg, FL

Step into an impactful contract opportunity supporting students as a self-contained Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. You’ll work on-site at a single school location, primarily serving elementary students with diverse learning needs and exceptionalities. The assignment spans from early August 2026 through late May 2027, at 35 hours per week (7 hours per day).

What You’ll Bring:

• Valid Florida ESE (Exceptional Student Education) certification
• Florida K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification
• Demonstrated experience leading a self-contained special education classroom

• Strong classroom management and individualized instructional skills
• Commitment to collaborating with colleagues, support staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction for a self-contained ESE classroom, adapting lessons to meet individual student needs
• Foster a safe and engaging classroom culture that supports both academic and social-emotional growth
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in coordination with the school team
• Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary team members regarding student progress and needs
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all compliance requirements and deadlines are met
• Participate actively in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities

End Date: May 28, 2027
Location: Jacksonville, FL (one school site within the North West region—assignments will be confirmed closer to start)
