Bring your expertise in special education to a rewarding contract opportunity serving young learners in an Early Learning Center near Middleton, WI. This position focuses primarily on providing special education instruction to four-year-olds in a morning session kindergarten class, with the potential to also support students in a three-year-old program. In addition, you’ll deliver itinerant services, collaborating with other teachers and specialists to ensure all students receive the support they need.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
  • Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
  • Experience working with early childhood populations, especially ages 3-5
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and developmentally appropriate practices
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to adapt to varying classroom environments, including itinerant models

Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
  • Deliver direct instruction in a morning four-year-old kindergarten session
  • Potentially provide support to students in a three-year-old classroom as needed
  • Use evidence-based strategies to foster cognitive, social, and emotional growth
  • Coordinate with general educators and related service providers to support student inclusion
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as required
  • Communicate proactively with families about student progress and goals
