As a valued educator, you’ll play an essential role in case management, direct instruction, and the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut Special Education Teaching Certification (Endorsement 165 or 265 required)
- Consideration for DSAP certified candidates
- Experience working with middle or high school students in a resource and/or push-in environment
- Strong knowledge of IEP writing, case management, and evidence-based instructional strategies
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students in grades 6–12, adapting lessons to meet varying needs
- Manage caseloads and maintain timely, accurate IEPs for assigned students
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, families, and other service providers
- Support inclusive practices by pushing into classrooms as needed and differentiating instruction
- Monitor and document student progress, providing updates at regular intervals
- Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing professional growth activities
