Make an immediate impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting secondary students in a dynamic classroom environment near Middletown, CT. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work with both middle and high school learners in supportive resource and push-in settings. As a valued educator, you’ll play an essential role in case management, direct instruction, and the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut Special Education Teaching Certification (Endorsement 165 or 265 required)
  • Consideration for DSAP certified candidates
  • Experience working with middle or high school students in a resource and/or push-in environment
  • Strong knowledge of IEP writing, case management, and evidence-based instructional strategies
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students in grades 6–12, adapting lessons to meet varying needs
  • Manage caseloads and maintain timely, accurate IEPs for assigned students
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, families, and other service providers
  • Support inclusive practices by pushing into classrooms as needed and differentiating instruction
  • Monitor and document student progress, providing updates at regular intervals
  • Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing professional growth activities
