Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher. This position focuses on resource and push-in settings for Kindergarten through 5th grade, providing tailored instruction and case management to help students achieve their potential. The assignment offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week and runs through June 10, 2027, with an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to students in resource or push-in classroom environments
  • Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Manage caseloads, coordinate meetings, and maintain documentation in compliance with state and federal standards
  • Collaborate actively with general education teachers, families, and support staff
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
  • Foster a nurturing, inclusive learning environment to support student growth and engagement

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current Connecticut Special Education Teacher certification (165 or 265 required)
  • Applications from DSAP-certified candidates may be considered
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students (K-5) in special education settings
  • Strong background in IEP development and case management
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to supporting diverse learners and advocating for their success
