This full-time position focuses on Special Education services for both 8th and 12th-grade English, engaging with a caseload of 23 students. As part of your schedule, you’ll collaborate in two co-taught English classes and lead two small group sessions daily, while also enjoying two prep periods to plan and support your instructional practice.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Delaware Special Education (SPED) certification required prior to the school year’s start
  • Demonstrated experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in middle and high school settings
  • Familiarity with the Infinite IEP program is highly preferred
  • Strong collaboration skills for effective co-teaching and communication with staff and families
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet a variety of learning needs and maintain compliance with IEP requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engaging English instruction to 8th and 12th-grade students in both co-taught and small group settings
  • Manage and support a caseload of 23 students, ensuring all IEP goals are effectively addressed and documented
  • Partner with general education teachers to deliver inclusive and accessible English curriculum
  • Develop accommodations, modifications, and targeted interventions tailored to student needs
  • Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and support teams about progress and IEP compliance
  • Utilize prep periods to prepare lesson plans, update IEPs, and participate in professional development
