Make a meaningful difference in the lives of elementary-aged students as a full-time, in-person Intervention Specialist. This rewarding contract position offers the opportunity to support learners in a self-contained MD (Multiple Disabilities) classroom, with responsibilities extending to some push-in support for students as needed. The setting is a dynamic, nurturing environment with up to 8 students from 1st through 4th grades.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification with credentials to teach grades 1-4
- Experience with MD or self-contained classrooms strongly preferred
- Deep understanding of IEP development, adaptation, and progress monitoring
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers and support staff for inclusive push-in services
- Effective communication skills for working with families, students, and educational teams
- Commitment to promoting student independence and functional skill building
- Flexibility and creativity in classroom management and instructional design
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction for students with a broad range of learning needs
- Implement and monitor IEP goals, collecting data to inform instructional changes
- Provide push-in support to students in general education classrooms as necessary
- Foster a positive classroom environment, promoting social, emotional, and academic growth
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop strategies for student support
- Communicate regularly with families about student progress and program goals
- Participate in professional development to stay current on best practices in special education
