A rewarding opportunity awaits an experienced Special Education Teacher specializing in Cognitive Impairments (CI) for a contract assignment beginning August 11, 2026, and concluding June 4, 2027. This position involves collaborating with a dedicated educational team to support a caseload of 17 students in kindergarten through second grade. Working approximately 37.5 hours per week, you’ll help nurture academic and personal growth in young learners.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current and valid teaching certification in Special Education, with an endorsement or experience serving students with cognitive impairments (CI)
  • Proven background as a Special Education Teacher, preferably with primary grade students (K-2)
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring for diverse learners
  • Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals, general education staff, and families
  • Proficient in supporting positive behavior intervention strategies and differentiated instruction

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students with cognitive impairments
  • Implement individualized education programs (IEPs), regularly assessing student progress
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages growth and self-confidence
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and multidisciplinary teams regarding student development
  • Provide guidance and supervision to paraprofessional staff as needed
