Special Education Teacher - Millbrook, Alabama

Your responsibilities will include:

• Creating and implementing individualized lesson plans tailored to students’ IEP goals
• Managing a self-contained classroom with the support of skilled paraprofessionals
• Maintaining accurate records, tracking student progress, and updating IEPs as needed
• Collaborating with general education teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure student success
• Participating in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
• Fostering a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment for all students
• Utilizing evidence-based strategies to support behavioral and academic growth

Ideal candidates bring:

• active Alabama Special Education Certification (either K-6 or 6-12)
• prior experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting
• strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• compassion, patience, and the ability to motivate students with diverse needs
• proficiency in developing and managing IEPs
• adaptability in working with para/aide support within elementary classrooms
