Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid certification in Special Education and experience as a Special Education Teacher
  • Demonstrated expertise working with students who exhibit challenging behaviors, particularly within an EBD context
  • Strong classroom management abilities and adaptive instructional strategies
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to fostering a positive classroom climate
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals and related service providers

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized lesson plans that accommodate varying learning styles and behavioral needs
  • Utilize proven behavioral intervention techniques to support student growth and lesson engagement
  • Work closely with the classroom aide to monitor student progress and maintain a supportive, safe classroom environment
  • Track student data, prepare documentation, and participate in IEP meetings as required
  • Maintain open lines of communication with families and staff to ensure continuity of care and support
