Licensed K-5 Special Education Teacher - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

This contract opportunity focuses on providing exceptional instruction and guidance to students in grades K through 5, making a real difference in their academic and personal growth. As a key member of the special education staff, you’ll collaborate with educators and families to promote individualized student success.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid, active state teaching license in Special Education (required)
• Certification in Moderate/Severe Special Education
• Experience working with K-5 elementary students, particularly within specialized or inclusive settings
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
• Ability to connect and communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents
• Organizational and problem-solving skills to manage caseload and documentation

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students with moderate to severe needs
• Manage a caseload of elementary students, ensuring each receives appropriate services and support
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve student goals
• Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments for diverse learning needs
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for success
• Document and maintain accurate records in accordance with district and legal guidelines
• Participate in professional development to stay current on best practices in special education
