This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated Special Education Teacher with certification and licensure seeking to make a meaningful impact on elementary students with moderate to severe disabilities. The position focuses on serving a caseload within an elementary school setting, catering specifically to students in grades K-5. The role carries a contract status with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to elementary students with moderate to severe disabilities, tailoring teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, teachers, and support staff.
  • Utilize effective classroom management techniques to foster a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student progress and inclusion.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Active, valid state teaching license specific to special education.
  • Certification in special education with experience working with elementary-aged students (grades K-5).
  • Strong understanding of instructional strategies and accommodations for students with moderate to severe disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with families and educational professionals.
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive classrooms that promote student growth and achievement.
