Soliant is looking for a compassionate and skilled Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher to support students across Milwaukee, Wisconsin, through a dynamic contract role. This position is ideal for an educator who excels in fostering communication access, advocating for student needs, and collaborating with school teams to create inclusive learning environments. You’ll play a vital role in empowering students who are deaf or hard of hearing to thrive academically, socially, and independently.
Responsibilites:
- Provide Direct DHH Instruction — Deliver individualized and small‑group instruction that supports communication development, auditory skills, academic access, and self‑advocacy for a diverse caseload of 26 students from PreK through 12th grade.
- Support Communication Access — Ensure students receive appropriate accommodations, assistive technology support, and accessible learning environments across multiple school sites and grade levels.
- Complete Prep and Documentation Offsite — Plan lessons, prepare materials, and manage administrative and IEP‑related documentation offsite as needed while maintaining accuracy and timely completion.
- Collaborate With Families and School Teams — Work closely with families, interpreters, related service providers, and general education staff to monitor progress, troubleshoot barriers, and promote consistent communication across all grade bands.
Experience:
- Previous experience in schools preferred
