Ideal candidates hold a valid Special Education (SPED) license, or have a strong general education background with relevant SPED experience. If you have a General Ed PELSB License T2 - T4, and the drive to work with exceptional learners, an “out of field” form can be completed for this position.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- SPED licensure, or General Ed PELSB License T2 - T4 with special education experience (out of field option available)
- Previous work with K-6th grade students highly preferred
- Strong commitment to inclusive education practices
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues and families
- Adaptable, empathetic, and skilled in differentiated instruction
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored academic and behavioral support for a manageable, small group of elementary students
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs
- Work closely with classroom teachers and support staff to foster academic success and independence
- Maintain detailed records and progress reports in accordance with special education laws and policies
- Communicate regularly with families and school staff to ensure a consistent, supportive learning experience
