Special Education Teacher in Minneapolis, MN

Located near Minneapolis, this contract position offers the unique opportunity to work with a diverse and small student body (grades K-6) within a supportive educational environment.

Desired Skills & Licensure:

• Valid Special Education licensure required
• Consideration for candidates with general education teaching experience and a valid Gen Ed PELSB License (T2-T4); out-of-field form can be provided for the SPED role this year
• Experience supporting elementary-aged students in individualized or inclusive learning settings
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in dynamic classroom environments
• Commitment to fostering a nurturing and equitable educational experience for all learners

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and accommodations to meet IEP goals for children in grades K-6
• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans tailored to individual student strengths and needs
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, service providers, and parents/guardians
• Conduct ongoing assessments and monitor student progress, documenting growth and challenges
• Maintain organized records and participate in IEP meetings as a valued team member
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture
