A unique contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher eager to make a difference in a high school setting near Minneapolis, MN. Starting September 2026 and running through Thanksgiving 2026, you'll work full-time (7:30 AM – 3:30 PM), supporting students in grades 9–12 within a dynamic, structured learning environment.

You’ll have the chance to enhance the academic experience for a caseload of approximately 16–20 students, focusing on reading intervention as well as nurturing executive functioning and study skills. By collaborating closely with general education staff and support teams, you’ll help ensure each student has a tailored and supportive educational plan.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide evidence-based reading intervention and executive functioning instruction
  • Teach academic organization, planning, and study skills
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Maintain compliance with state and district special education requirements
  • Regularly track student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Collaborate with educational colleagues and support teams to maximize student outcomes

Qualifications & Desired Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Completion of a state-approved special education teacher preparation program
  • Minnesota teaching license via the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board
  • Competency in Standards of Effective Practice and special education core skills
  • Relevant licensure area (e.g., Learning Disabilities, ABS, EBD)
  • Student teaching or practicum experience
    Preferred:
  • Experience supporting high school students
  • Proven success in reading intervention and executive functioning support
  • Strong background in IEP development and compliance
  • Talent for team-based collaboration and positive communication
