Make a meaningful difference in the lives of elementary students by providing compassionate academic and behavioral support in a dedicated center-based Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) classroom. This full-time, contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 school year, offering the chance to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, in a supportive special education setting serving grades 3–5.
As a valued contributor in a structured classroom with robust staff support, you'll help approximately six students reach their fullest potential through individualized instruction, relationship-building, and evidence-based behavioral interventions. Your expertise will directly impact students' academic growth, social-emotional development, and overall school success.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License required; EBD licensure strongly preferred.
- Proven experience working with students in center-based or high-needs behavioral settings.
- Strong background in developing and implementing IEPs, BIPs, progress monitoring, and classroom interventions.
- Exceptional classroom management and behavior de-escalation skills.
- Effective collaborator and communicator, able to work seamlessly with staff and support personnel.
- Detailed experience with Setting III/center-based classrooms, PBIS, CPI, trauma-informed behavioral intervention, and elementary behavioral caseloads is highly desired.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct academic instruction tailored to individual student needs within a center-based EBD classroom environment.
- Implement, monitor, and adjust IEPs and BIPs, collecting and analyzing data on student progress.
- Utilize effective strategies for behavior support and emotional regulation, collaborating with classroom support staff.
- Maintain open communication with families, multidisciplinary teams, and school leadership to ensure continuity of care and support.
