This full-time contract opportunity focuses on leading a center-based Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) classroom, serving kindergarten through second-grade students who benefit from high levels of behavioral and instructional support.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (EBD licensure strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated success working with students exhibiting significant behavioral needs
- Proven ability to develop and implement IEPs and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Skilled in behavioral intervention, de-escalation strategies, and classroom consultation
- Strong communicator and effective collaborator within multi-disciplinary teams
- Preferred: Experience in K–2 center-based special education, PBIS, CPI/restorative practices, and trauma-informed instruction
- Level 3 behavior support setting experience highly valued
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional leadership and direct classroom support for six students with EBD
- Design, implement, and regularly update individualized education plans and behavior intervention plans
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to foster a supportive, trauma-aware classroom environment
- Collaborate with school staff, related service providers, and families to ensure student growth and well-being
- Engage in ongoing assessment and problem-solving to adapt interventions as needed
- Participate in professional meetings and contribute to a positive team culture
This position offers the opportunity to work a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, for the full school year, allowing for immersive involvement and professional development in a specialized educational setting.
