Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher shaping the lives of young students in a high-support elementary environment near Minneapolis, MN. This full-time, contract assignment extends from late August 2026 through early June 2027, working Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM. You’ll make a difference by leading a center-based Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) classroom, supporting students in kindergarten through second grade.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current Minnesota Special Education Teaching License required
  • EBD licensure or eligibility is highly valued
  • Proven ability to design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
  • Background in behavior intervention, de-escalation techniques, and classroom consultation
  • Strong communicator and enthusiastic team player
  • Experience supporting students with significant behavioral needs in a high-support setting
  • Center-based special education experience with K–2 students preferred
  • Familiarity with PBIS, CPI, or restorative & trauma-informed approaches is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction and support individualized for students in a small, specialized EBD classroom (approx. 6 students)
  • Provide leadership in classroom management and special education instructional strategies
  • Collaborate with staff, families, and support personnel to promote positive behavioral growth
  • Guide implementation of IEPs and BIPs, ensuring compliance and effectiveness
  • Foster a safe, empathetic, and trauma-informed learning environment
  • Utilize restorative practices and proactive interventions to help each student succeed
