This full-time, contract opportunity offers the chance to make a difference in a center-based Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) classroom, working Monday through Friday (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) for the 2026–2027 school year.

The role focuses on a close-knit caseload of approximately six students, where your expertise will foster academic, behavioral, and functional growth in a supportive environment. Paraprofessional assistance and collaboration with related service teams will contribute to a team-oriented experience, allowing you to fully utilize your special education skillset.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License required
  • ASD, DCD, ABS, or cross-categorical SPED licensure preferred
  • Background in supporting students with autism and developmental disabilities
  • Proven ability in writing IEPs, collecting progress data, and implementing individualized interventions
  • Skills in providing behavioral support and maintaining classroom structure
  • Experience partnering with families and multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Background:

  • Center-based autism classroom experience
  • Exposure to Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
  • Familiarity with sensory regulation strategies
  • Functional skills instruction background

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a classroom focused on individualized academic, behavioral, and functional instruction
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals and related service providers
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals
