This full-time, contract opportunity offers the chance to make a difference in a center-based Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) classroom, working Monday through Friday (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) for the 2026–2027 school year.
The role focuses on a close-knit caseload of approximately six students, where your expertise will foster academic, behavioral, and functional growth in a supportive environment. Paraprofessional assistance and collaboration with related service teams will contribute to a team-oriented experience, allowing you to fully utilize your special education skillset.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License required
- ASD, DCD, ABS, or cross-categorical SPED licensure preferred
- Background in supporting students with autism and developmental disabilities
- Proven ability in writing IEPs, collecting progress data, and implementing individualized interventions
- Skills in providing behavioral support and maintaining classroom structure
- Experience partnering with families and multidisciplinary teams
Preferred Background:
- Center-based autism classroom experience
- Exposure to Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
- Familiarity with sensory regulation strategies
- Functional skills instruction background
