Special Education Teacher | Minneapolis, Minnesota

Make a difference in the lives of students by providing specialized instruction and academic support in a dynamic high school environment. Two unique contract opportunities are currently available for Special Education Teachers looking to work near Minneapolis, MN.

Position Details:

Position 1:

• Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
• Work primarily with high school students in a resource classroom setting
• Heavy focus on math instruction, including college prep math and pre-algebra
• Support students with diverse learning needs and collaborate with general education teachers

Position 2:

• Part-time, 20 hours per week
• Serve students in the ALC building with the expectation of daily, on-site presence (Monday through Friday)
• Flexible scheduling available within the workday
• Caseload of approximately 10-12 students, with services provided during assigned hours
• Open to candidates licensed in any special education area

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Special Education teaching license in any specialty area (required)
• Passion for fostering student growth and inclusivity
• Experience or strong interest in teaching high school math curricula (for Position 1)
• Ability to build positive relationships and motivate diverse learners
• Commitment to collaborating with educational team members

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Deliver differentiated instruction to meet student goals
• Work with students one-on-one or in small groups
• Coordinate with related service providers and staff
• Track progress and communicate regularly with families
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with special education regulations
